A full-body activity that helps children develop strength, coordination, balance, flexibility, and endurance. Through drills, games, and partner-based training, students improve body awareness and learn how to move efficiently and safely. Every class provides opportunities to learn new skills, build confidence, and develop a deeper understanding of self-defense.

Unlike many sports that rely heavily on speed or power, Jiu-Jitsu encourages students to think strategically, remain calm under pressure, and use technique to overcome challenges. It focuses on technique, leverage, and problem-solving rather than size or strength.

Every class requires focus, patience, problem-solving, and perseverance. Students learn that progress comes through consistent effort and that mistakes are opportunities to learn and improve. Students learn how to stay calm in difficult situations, establish boundaries, and respond appropriately when faced with conflict.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu teaches practical self-defense skills while promoting confidence and personal responsibility. Through the Carlson Gracie tradition, we strive to develop not only skilled martial artists but also respectful, confident, and resilient young people who are prepared to face challenges both on and off the mat.

Understanding our Lineage and its Importance

In Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, lineage is the connection between instructors and the generations of teachers who came before them. It represents a direct chain of knowledge, experience, and tradition.

Our connection to the Carlson Gracie lineage means students learn authentic, time-tested techniques and principles that have been passed down through one of the most respected families in martial arts. This helps ensure that students receive quality instruction rooted in proven self-defense, strong fundamentals, and the values of respect, discipline, and perseverance.

FAQ

How often are belt graduations? Jui Jitsu belts take time to earn and there is no set timeline. Students can earn 4 white stripes on their belt before they are eligible to test, and each stripe represents their progress over time.

When do they get a uniform? Uniforms are ordered on an individual basis after registration. The price will depend on the size of the uniform and if rash guards or other items/accessories are also ordered.

Is there a contract? Yes and no. There is a monthly option as well as 3, 6, 9, and 12-month options, which do not auto-renew, so you can switch it up to fit your current situation at the end of each term.
